I can’t believe it’s already just about December. I haven’t written the first Christmas card or decorated or put up the tree or even taken the pugs’ Christmas photo. But I have finished my Christmas shopping! I’m soooo not finished with my Christmas crafting of presents, but I have time. Next weekend my Nanny & this couple from Ireland are coming to stay for the weekend. Lots to do between now and then. Luckily CSP is off tomorrow, so we’ll hopefully get the tree up then. I hope all of you are getting your houses decorated so you can participate in Christmas BPOH!
Did I ever tell you that when I was an HR manager for a grocery store I hired a woman to be a cashier who claimed to be an American Indian Psychic? She told me one day in the break room that it would be difficult for me to have children, that I would only end up with one child- a little girl, and that I would marry a man with Dennis in his name. Well scroll down folks cause question #5 on that last meme shows CSP’s middle name is Dennis. We all know I’m uterus free. And we’re asking for a girl. I might need to Google Psychic Indian Cashiers and send a thank you note.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I sure did. I hosted my very first Thanksgiving and it went really well! We had tons of food and fun. We deep fried the turkey and it came out great- so juicy!
Candice & Devin from next door came over with their kids. They are from Iowa, so a deep fried turkey was a first for them. They loved it though. We all had a lot of fun. Papa said grace and it was so sweet we were all crying by the end of it! I made mac & cheese, green bean casserole, and 2 pumpkin pies. They came out really well! We also provided the turkey and the oil.
I found pretty place mats at Target (I didn’t have 8 matching before) and I thought the table looked pretty.Papa prepped the turkey: CSP had to work third shift and into the morning Thanksgiving morning, but after a nap he came down from the closet and joined us. We had some extra excitement after dinner as a firetruck and ambulance pulled up. We never found out what happened. But the truck couldn’t get through because the dorks in my neighborhood park on both sides of the streets. Drives me nuts. So the firetruck just laid on his horn until people started to move. Candice grabbed my camera and went running to take pics of the parking offenders so we can report them to the HOA. We have driveways and overflow parking areas but people just get lazy. I tell you what though, if someone I loved died because the ambulance couldn’t get past your car, oooh, you’d have a world of hurt coming to ya!
Then we went in for pie and more visiting. I went to bed exhausted, stuffed, and happy. The way Thanksgiving should be! Surrounded by the people you love and good food!
Today we got up, packed up, said our goodbyes, and hit the road.
I was home just a few minutes when CSP showed up with his parents in tow. They came in and his mom cooked the most complicated meatloaf I’ve ever seen. She used every available dish, utensil, and gadget in my kitchen. I was gobsmacked. But it was good and I didn’t have to cook it so I don’t complain!
Pictures and my Thanksgiving story to come!
Today we (Shannon H, Susan, Miss O, Deb, C, and I) walked around Biltmore Village and the Grove Arcade, had lunch, then went back to the house for naps. After naps we piled back into the cars and went to the Biltmore for the Candlelight Christmas tour. It was just beautiful. I don’t have any pictures from inside the house though because they don’t allow you to take photos, videos, or even sketch! We weren’t able to get through the whole tour though because one of the girls with us, C, is 7 mos pregnant and just couldn’t make it anymore. It’s a long tour with lots of stairs. After Biltmore we picked up a ton of pizza and went back to the house to play games and eat. It was a lot of fun visiting with my Tiara Girls. Pictures are on flickr.
